Cheerio!

This weekend we headed back to Ta-Town to say some goodbyes.  The BFF is moving to... England?!  Yes, England.  For like 5 years.  I am heartbroken so excited for her!

In all actuality, the move probably won't affect me much.  I don't really see Sam a whole lot.  We only live 3 hours away from each other, but life kind of has a way of making that 3 hour drive seem a little impossible at times.

I was just worried about the phone bill for making calls to England.  No really.  I talk to Sam pretty much every day.  Sometimes multiple times a day.  Sometimes those phone calls are what get me through a rough day.  And sometimes they are just calls to share hilarious/embarrassing stories.  And sometimes I just call with a shoe problem.  Regardless, my day is not complete without a chat... or at the very least a voicemail from Parker singing Justin Bieber.

So you can imagine how I felt when Drew told me I had to get a new BFF because there's no way I'm calling England every day!  Sam to the rescue.  I don't know what kind of plan they're on, but she swears it will be just like making local phone calls.  Thank heavens!

Connie's cookies!
Sam's mom threw a little going away party for the Alexanders' at Spirits in Valley Center, complete with beer, cake, and cookies shaped like... England?

I'm gonna miss that face.
Meg didn't want to take a picture with me because she said I'd put it all over the internet.  Yep.  You were right!!!

Love ya Megan!
The party ended as the band got ready to play.  We had to stick around for a few songs from Lady and the Tramps

That's Lady.
This picture is so so so blurry, but this was the best mullet I've ever seen in my entire life!

Party in the back.
And... this gal danced to every song.  She was the only one on the dance floor, but she was really working it.  I couldn't tell if she was actually with the band, or just a Spirits regular.

Work it girl!
It was a really good party to say goodbye.  Except... it turns out they bumped back their moving date and the family won't be moving until the end of June. :)

I know it sucks for them because they are so ready to start their new life, but I'm selfish.  And this means I can see them more.  Now I just need to start planning my trip to England.

I love you Sam, Brady, and Parker!!!!

***Bonus Picture***

We always take the puppies to Wichita with us, because they love terrorizing visiting their grandparents.  On the way home, I swear they were posing for senior pictures.  Unfortunately we were driving and I didn't have a good shot.  So their heads are kinda chopped off.

Butts together.
Or maybe they were just in a fight and not speaking to each other?

Slumber Party

We had a little slumber party at Casa de Gibson last Friday.  The bestie and her fam came up from Wichita for a wedding on Saturday, so they stayed with us on Friday night.  This was our first slumber party since Parker came along.  Sam & Brady used to stay with us pretty often, which always made Ari a happy puppy.  He has a slight man crush on Brady.  Which made me a bit nervous for him to meet Parker.

We started the night at BRGR.  I still can't believe how popular this restaurant is!  AND, we heard a rumor that the same people are opening a wine/small plates-type restaurant right around the corner.  Score one more for PV!

Parker likes his reflection.

Funny faces!

How cute is his denim ensemble?

My mommy-friends.

We are hungry!!!
Dinner was fabulous, as usual.  I ordered the Portabella burger, as usual.  I just can't find it in me to try something new.

I snagged a seat next to Parker... which meant I got to share food with him as well.  Sam ordered him mac & cheese and it was the most gourmet looking thing ever.  It had like 5 different cheeses and mushrooms and peas.  Sam made him a tiny plate and then I'm pretty sure the two of us ate the rest.

Fancy Pants Mac & Cheese.
And... my new obsession: Blue Moon.  Best. Beer. Ever.  I'm usually a Bud Light gal, but Blue Moon is so delicious!  That orange juice makes it go down a bit too smooth.

Mmm... Blue Moon.

"Who ate all my mac & cheese?"
Drew and I also split a basket of onion straws.  These are so good!  But there is no possible way we could even eat this huge basket between the two of us.  Its enough for a whole table!

Please forgive the poor photo quality.
After dinner we headed home to put Parker to bed and have a few drinks.  Poor little Parker was sound asleep in the guest room when Ari broke in and jumped in bed with him.  Parker was not happy to have such an aggressive night time visitor.

The next morning we relegated the pups to the outdoors while we had breakfast.  Parker got to play with the puppies through the safety of the door.

After all the puppy time we decided to eat some breakfast.  This kid is cute... even when he's showing me his breakfast.

More funny faces.

Mmmm.... oatmeal!

And there's the oatmeal.
We had so much fun catching up with the Alexanders... and were so grateful that Ari didn't eat Parker!  Love you guys!!!

Park It.

Everyone likes baby cuteness, right? These are from my trip to Wichita last week. I stopped by to see P Diddy: the mac daddy of cuteness.

Parker & Mom.
Apparently carrying a baby around gives you killer arms.

Serious face.

Surprised face!

I'm the cutest baby ever face.

We were watching the Bachelorette finale and I swear Parker started clapping when Alli chose Roberto. Funniest thing ever!

Baby Blessings

This weekend I went home to attend Parker's baptism. I can't believe how big he's gotten since I saw him last! And I love watching Brady and Sam as parents!

Such a sweet family:

How cute is that sweater vest???

Such a brave little boy:

After the ceremony we headed to Sam's mom's house for lunch. Check out P Diddy's sweet hat:

I can't believe how much things have changed in the last year! Sam has always been incredible at everything she does, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that she's such a great mom!

P.S. Why is my camera acting funny and blurring my photos?????

Meet the Bug!

As promised, here's the handsome new addition to the Alexander family; Parker E. Alexander.

He loves his Aunt Jamie already!!!
I still can't believe your a mom!!!
Yea for chubby cheeks!!!
So tiny:
She's going to be the best mom!
I think the best gifts in life are probably always given to us unexpectedly. Seeing Sam & Brady transformed into parents so quickly really made me really realize that God has a plan for us all and even though they weren't planning on him, Parker is certainly a huge blessing on their family. And I know they are going to be fabulous parents!
